Privacy notice
This notice explains how Bosnia Unfolded handles information while providing its public travel guides and accommodation directory. The site does not offer user accounts or take bookings or payments.
Publisher and contact
This independent travel guide is published as Bosnia Unfolded. For editorial or privacy inquiries, email contact@bosniaunfolded.com.
What the current site collects
- No user accounts, profiles or newsletter sign-ups are implemented.
- No public owner-claim or correction-report form is exposed.
- The optional stay shortlist stores up to four public property slugs in this browser's local storage. No account or cross-device profile is created. When the shortlist page is opened, those saved slugs are sent to the Bosnia Unfolded application only to re-check which saved properties still pass the current public publication gate and return their current public facts.
- No first-party or third-party analytics endpoint is enabled in the current build.
- The application does not set a non-essential analytics or advertising cookie.
- The Booking redirect validates the destination and immediately redirects the browser; when first-party click measurement is enabled it may record the destination host, CTA placement and related property/destination slug. It does not persist a user-level click profile.
Accommodation and reference information
Bosnia Unfolded stores reviewed property facts, reference URLs, observation dates and verification history. Published business contact details are limited to facts reviewed as belonging to the accommodation. Discovery and verification records remain private.
Outbound services
When you follow a Booking.com, official-property or other reviewed provider link, you leave Bosnia Unfolded. The destination service may process device, account, booking or payment information under its own privacy notice. Bosnia Unfolded does not receive your Booking.com account credentials or payment details.
Some outbound Booking.com or Trip.com links may become affiliate links after a partner agreement is approved. If enabled, selecting the link can also contact the partner's affiliate tracking service, which may use cookies or other attribution methods subject to the partner's privacy information. Affiliate tracking is not loaded merely by browsing Bosnia Unfolded, and there is no obligation to follow these links.
Property location sections may offer embedded Google Maps. Loading a map connects your browser to Google, which may process device and network information and apply its own storage or account settings. You can choose not to interact with embedded maps.
Destination maps use OpenStreetMap map tiles. When a destination page loads its interactive map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive normal connection information including your IP address. Map links to Google open only when selected.
Cookies, analytics and consent
Bosnia Unfolded first-party click measurement does not require an analytics cookie or persistent visitor identifier. The browser-local stay shortlist is a user-requested functional preference and can be cleared from the shortlist page or by clearing site storage in the browser. If a future public configuration introduces analytics, advertising, embedded third-party tracking or other non-essential storage, the provider, legal basis/consent flow and retention period must be reviewed and this notice updated before activation.
Retention
First-party click events, when enabled, are retained for up to 90 days and can be pruned with the repository analytics-maintenance command. They do not contain a Bosnia Unfolded visitor profile or persistent visitor ID. The current public-facing configuration does not create public form submissions. Browser-local shortlist IDs remain on that browser until the user removes them, clears the shortlist or clears site storage. Internal property evidence and publication audit history are retained for provenance and data-quality purposes. If public claims/reports or analytics are later enabled, a specific retention schedule must be configured and disclosed before those features go live.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to follow external provider links. Requests concerning personal data, access, correction or deletion can be sent to the correspondence email above when available. Applicable statutory rights are not reduced by this notice.
