The kind of holiday
The Jusovina choice
The villa's own site offers parking in front of the building under surveillance with reservation required; independent Expedia information treats that parking as paid and limited. The right question is whether staff can reserve a space and the exact suitable room for your dates.
Where you'll stay
Small west-bank lane, real arrival logistics
The operator's own directions put the villa on the west/right bank of the Neretva at Jusovina 3. It offers to help with reserved parking, but its stone-paved lane and the choice of room/floor make arriving with bags a decision in its own right.
Villa Čardak fits a different Mostar overnight from the larger restaurant-led hotel on nearby Onešćukova. Its owner runs a small guesthouse at Jusovina 3, a stone-paved west-bank lane close to the Stari Most historic district, and describes personally helping drivers find the property. Rooms are individually decorated, but the choices are not interchangeable: Expedia lists a balcony double and a separate two-bedroom river-view apartment alongside ordinary double and family categories. This is attractive for people who prefer a smaller guesthouse and can organise arrival carefully. It is less suitable if you need an unreserved parking place, a lift or the certainty that a photographed balcony belongs to your selected room.

Worth shortlisting for
Travellers who want the old-street setting after the crowds ease, a more intimate guesthouse and room types that can be selected for different group sizes. The owner offers personal wayfinding help and a parking-reservation option. Choose a distinct double, balcony room or multi-room product only when its actual floor, beds and layout meet your needs.
Compare a different base if
A large hotel lobby, included dining, easy step-free access or guaranteed drive-up is essential. Expedia lists upper floors reached by stairs, paid parking, breakfast at extra charge and a limited arrival window; the operator's 24-hour reception message conflicts with the booking check-in window. Emen on Onešćukova is a stronger candidate when an on-site restaurant is central to the visit.
How does Jusovina 3 relate to the bridge and modern centre?
The owner describes Jusovina 3 on the west/right bank of the Neretva, reached by a small cobbled lane near the Old Bridge. Its walking directions cross Stari Most from the eastern side; those are operator instructions, not an independently confirmed universal luggage or step-free route. The historic Jusovina-Spile zone and the reconstructed crossing form part of Mostar's UNESCO-described urban setting. Emen on Onešćukova lies on the same western bank, so the difference between these two stays is the lane, building and service model, not opposite sides of the river.

About 0.1 km in a straight line
Stari Most is both a landmark and an arrival decision
The bridge is the crucial connection between the two banks of the Old Town. Čardak is on the west-bank Jusovina side, whereas station-side arrivals may approach from farther east. The operator describes using the bridge on foot to find the villa, but stone paving and crowds can make that difficult with luggage. Use the reviewed Stari Most point to orient a route, then have the owner confirm the practical final approach.

About 0.9 km in a straight line
Spanish Square frames the modern-centre alternative
The reviewed Spanish Square point lies in a different part of central Mostar beyond the most compact bridge lanes. It helps a driver or rail traveller compare a modern-centre hotel with the extra effort of reaching a Jusovina guesthouse. This comparison is geographic only and makes no claim about a timed or step-free walk from Čardak.
The saved Villa Čardak and reviewed landmark points provide straight-line map bearings. They do not measure the route along the last cobbled section of Jusovina, the Old Bridge's paving, accessible access, car pickup or journey times. Owner-published minute and metre figures are not a route inspection.
Two different ways to use this small Old Town base.
These are suggested plans to adapt to your dates, ability and weather. Activities and hotel facilities need their own availability check.

A day among the west-bank lanes
From Jusovina to the Crooked Bridge and Stari Most.
For a first day, make the guesthouse location itself useful: the owner places it by the Neretva and Radobolja, amid the smaller western historic streets. Treat the route to Stari Most as part of the sightseeing rather than another hotel-to-attraction time estimate.
Explore the small west-bank approaches
After dropping bags, orient along Jusovina and toward the Crooked Bridge/Radobolja setting. The lanes and stone surfaces are the point of this stop; choose footwear and an accessible alternative route where necessary.
Cross Stari Most without rushing
Use the UNESCO-researched reconstructed bridge as a historic crossing to the east bank. Crowds and uneven paving change the experience, so resist turning a map distance into a strict schedule.
Return by the actual route you learned
After one east-bank landmark or river viewpoint, return to Jusovina and choose supper nearby. Čardak is a guesthouse with breakfast offerings to verify, not an evidenced full-service dinner hotel.

A separate Herzegovina excursion
Spend a road day at Počitelj's hillside settlement.
Počitelj is a steep, stone-built settlement south of Mostar, clearly separate from the short Stari Most circuit. A car-based visit can make sense on a second day, provided transport and mobility constraints are arranged independently.
Arrange pickup outside the final lane
The owner advertises help with transport but no particular itinerary, operator or price was verified. Confirm vehicle collection, payment and return arrangements from a legally reachable location, whether or not your car remains in reserved guest parking.
Give Počitelj's slope its due
The reviewed Počitelj highlight describes steep historic lanes. Decide how much climbing fits the group and weather; individual museums or other sites need separate visitor-hour and admission checks.
Keep the return flexible
If extending the trip to Kravica or another regional stop, allocate an additional drive and separate admission arrangements rather than assuming a packaged Čardak tour. Confirm the property's luggage and arrival arrangements before leaving Mostar.
The owner says monitored parking is in front of the villa, explicitly requiring reservation. Expedia separately lists limited paid parking, so do not treat the old generic facility badge as complimentary. Obtain the exact parking fee, confirmed place, vehicle approach and a telephone contact before entering the restricted historic-lane area.
Pick the named unit, not a balcony photo
The operator states that only some rooms have balconies. Expedia offers distinct double/twin, larger family, balcony, terrace-studio and river-view apartment choices. Confirm the actual bedding, occupancy, separate bedrooms, private bathroom, stairs, balcony and view of the selected offer. A legacy generic kitchen label does not prove a private kitchen in your unit.
Compare cancellation terms by sales channel
The operator's direct reservation page describes a fourteen-day cancellation threshold and penalties for short stays or late cancellations. These are presented as the direct operator terms observed on 12 October 2026, not the contract of every Expedia or Booking.com tariff. Read the exact chosen rate and retain written confirmation of prepayment and amendments.
Resolve the reception/check-in conflict
The owner advertises 24-hour reception and describes early-afternoon room readiness, while Expedia sets a later check-in start and an evening cutoff. Send your expected arrival time in writing, confirm what happens if a coach is late and ask whether someone can help bring luggage from the drop-off. Expedia lists stair-only upper floors; request a specified accessible room and actual entrance details if relevant.
Plan meals and excursions separately
Expedia currently offers continental breakfast for an additional charge and promotes transport/tour help. Neither source establishes that a particular tariff includes breakfast or any Počitelj/Kravica tour. Ask whether breakfast is available on your days and identify the provider, itinerary, pickup, cancellation terms and cost of any transport.
Is Villa Čardak on the same riverbank as Hotel Emen?
Yes. The operator identifies Jusovina 3 as on the west/right bank of the Neretva, and Emen's Onešćukova address is also on the western Old Town approach. The distinction is the small Jusovina lane versus the more commercial Onešćukova street, with different parking, dining and guest-room decisions.
Can I arrive in my car and park in front of Villa Čardak for free?
Do not assume free or guaranteed parking. The operator offers monitored places in front and requires a reservation; independently, Expedia identifies limited paid on-site parking. Arrange the space and price directly, with written driving instructions for the historic lanes.
Will my Čardak room have a balcony or a view over the Neretva?
Not automatically. The owner says only some rooms have balconies; Expedia shows separate balcony and river-view apartment categories. Choose a named unit and confirm its outlook, floor and bedding. A property-gallery photograph or a nearby bridge is not proof of your reserved view.
Does the operator's fourteen-day cancellation rule apply to all bookings?
The fourteen-day language is on Čardak's direct reservation page. An external platform may sell a different rate with its own cancellation, prepayment and shortening conditions. Your actual confirmed booking terms govern, so compare them before payment.
Is Villa Čardak suitable for someone unable to climb stairs?
No checked step-free route was established. The last lane has stone paving and Expedia says upper floors are stair-access only. Ask the operator to identify a suitable floor, entrance thresholds, bathroom facilities and help from a permitted vehicle stop; its proximity to Stari Most alone establishes none of those conditions.
Are breakfast and a Počitelj or Kravica trip included with a room?
No inclusion was confirmed. Expedia lists paid breakfast and the operator advertises transport help, but these do not equal a specific free meal or tour. Obtain the meal plan and any transport contract, operator, itinerary, meeting place and charge in advance.
